There are a couple semi-active threads about what books we’re reading and occasionally people post about movies the see. How about live theater?

I am, right this moment, sitting in the Guthrie theater waiting to see Shakespeare’s Richard II.

Our "local" theater (referenced above) is putting on a rendition of The Henriad this year. (They were going to do it during the 2021 season and we were all jazzed for that but the entire season was cancelled by global pandemic.) In this case, they're putting on Richard II (see just above) a combination of Henry IV, Part 1 and Henry IV, Part 2 as one play (cutting out the overlap between the two) and then Henry V. As noted, we saw Richard II last weekend. And today we're heading down to see the Henry IV combo. (Henry V will be Wednesday after next.)

We could have seen them all in a one day marathon, but a) the daughter wasn't enthusiastic and b) it would put us home *really* late with a two hour drive on top of a long, long day (or the expense of a hotel room). Now, with all these individual trips, I'm wondering if we made the wrong call.

ETA: you can see from this picture that the set they’re using is the same except each king has a different banner up behind the throne.
