A good friend (David Salmon) and fellow founding member of the Wild Rivers Permaculture Guild is putting his beautiful property up for sale. His realtor is also a friend. Of course, being friends, I think they are both very good people. This is a very cool property built with permaculture ethics at the forefront. It’s location is one of the most verdant areas on Earth. It is less than 15min to dozens of amazing spots on the Pacific Coast, Smith River, and old growth redwoods. We have a growing community of thriving permies here as well. For more info, check out the listing link below. I am not receiving any compensation for this, just trying to help a friend, and this community by finding a permie buyer.

From listing (link below):

“Saunter throughout your charming ~ 1 acre sanctuary captivated by tranquility, perennial colors, and a food bearing plants. Fruit trees - Berry Bushes - Vines - Edible Shrubs. Custom is an understatement not only for the outside environment, but for the home, shop, and cabin as well. Built from old growth redwood and renovated in 2016, enter through the beautiful 8' tall arched Mahogany doors with portico and matching arched windows. Walk on the bamboo floors and feel the expanse of the vaulted ceilings. With an updated metal roof, double-pane windows, wood stove and heat pump, one can be confident in the longevity and efficiency of this charming home for decades to come. Create culinary masterpieces with food from your magical gardens using your 5-burner propane stove. Afterward, relax in your spa on the side patio while listening to the surf and tree frogs near the pond. With 3 bedrooms, 1 bath, laundry and living room, yet under 1000 sq ft, the home is easy to heat and maintain. This one of a kind home has a shop of the same caliber. A fusion of sustainability, practicality, and love, the 2-story 26x36’ shop enchants all. This gorgeous accessory building with its own septic system and separate meter was built in the past 5 years from Hempcrete. with 12-inch walls and hemp wool insulation in the roof. Doug fir posts with glu-lam beams frame the 10' first floor ceiling. Beautiful arched and round windows/doors, metal roof, and three skylights. The hot water is preheated by a solar roof panel backed up by on-demand propane. Office with in-floor radiant heat, deep built-in shelves, track lighting, and a 4x7' window letting in morning sun. Art studio room with skylight, tile floor, beautiful wallpaper, built-in ash wood countertop. The kitchen has large farmhouse sink and a 1930’s propane/wood 6 burner cook stove accentuated by a custom serpentine-stone chimney. Creative inspiration continues into the two-room workshop with stunning, sliding 4x8' vintage barn doors with glass panes, a Dutch door to the office, French doors out to an old-growth redwood deck, extensive pegboard, butcher-block workbench, ample cabinet space, deep laundry sink, stained concrete floor and staircase with madrone balusters. The second story features 9x11' and 9x23' rooms with a skylight, round opening porthole window, built-in benches along one wall and large attic storage area. Then there’s the Original 384 sq ft rustic, custom-remodeled cabin with a kitchen and bedroom/parlor. Enjoy a morning cup of coffee in the connecting greenhouse with wooden flooring and garden beds. Enjoy 2000w off-grid power via a recently-installed solar system with lithium battery, inverter/charger and with grid back-up. Get clean in the hand crafted Fibonacci outdoor shower and relax on the back patio. Let’s head back outside to note three small pastures, irrigated raised beds, 15x30' hoop house, and a greenhouse with thermal pavers, reflective insulation and a heated sand table for all of your starts. There’s also a chicken coop, wood shed, garden shed and two 8x12' storage sheds. The mounded gardens are hugelkultur beds seeded with wine cap mushrooms, perennial tree collards, asparagus and perennial flowering shrubs. So many fruit trees, berries and shrubs! Two mature kiwi vines cover a 15 x 20' pergola with shady circular brick patio, producing up to 1700 fruit annually. Six grafted apples of multiple varieties, 4 different plums. Newer trees planted in the last 10 years include mulberries, peach, pear, cherry, olive, gingko, lemon, lime, hazelnuts, many grapes. Feast on blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, aronia berries, gooseberry, red and black currants, salmon berries, loganberries, strawberry guava, pineapple guava, goji berry, goumi berries, elderberries, Marionberry, rhubarb and red huckleberry. To create all of this can take decades, but one can time travel and have it all by seizing the rare opportunity to own this absolutely astonishing and unique property.“
