At almost no cost I picked up a National #7 canner at a yard sale (I'd make a new topic but apparently I'm all thumbs here) If anyone wants it I'll pay partial shipping from zip 25801 USA

Anne, I don't think they're wooden - I think they're heat/age-discolored Bakelite. But, yeh, I think it's a pretty cool piece of history, too. I had one, about ~mumblemumble~ years ago, and it was enormous and so heavy, lol. But, I loved it.
