I just tried to put on a pair of shoes and felt instant pain.  I put my hand inside the offending shoe and felt metal that had bent downward to an impressive degree.  These are year old shoes with steel toes. The only explanation I have is that sometime recently ( I wore mucks all day yesterday) those steel toes saved my foot, and I didn’t have the good sense to notice.

Yes, I will be replacing them with another pair of steel toed shoes.

That is quite alarming! I say that protective toe did its job splendidly.

Hi John;
I wear steel toes on the job and at home.
I have never dented the top, you are very lucky you were wearing them that day!
What has happened, mainly at home is I drop something and it misses the toe and hits just above where there is no extra protection... OWWWW

What is weird is that I can’t remember anything hitting it.  I suppose I would have remembered if I didn’t have the steel toes.   To be clear, it is the edge away from the toes that bent down, so I came really close to some potentially serious damage.

Well, John;
Here is a possible scenario.
After your liquid lunch with Jim Beam...
During your "Happy" hour nap...
A herd of olliphants wandered through your yard and casually walked on your foot...
After all, YOU walk on it why can't they...
Being nice olliphants they were gentle and carefully did not wake you...
I'm sure they have been huddled around their cell phone reading Permies and chuckling over your confusion!

Well I did consider a Kune, but they aren’t heavy enough.
