Hi!  We are a wilderness sanctuary located by Alamo Lake.  This season, we are looking to expand our rainwater capture and storage, as well as move forward with more check dams and swales to rehabilitate the area and green the desert!  We barter 1/2 day work for a free place to hook your RV (septic and water) or camp (we have hot showers and flush toilets).  Short-term (long-term negotiable).  Alamo Lake has excellent fishing, we have kayaks, beautiful hiking, old mines, and lots of places to explore.

For those who may be interested, where in the world is Alamo Lake? And how long is 'half a day'?

Good questions!!  Thank you!

Alamo Lake is a remote lake in Southern Arizona between Wikieup and Lake Havasu.  We are 2 hours from Kingman or Lake Havasu, 3.5 hours from Phoenix, 3 hours from Prescott.  We are a nonprofit with 330 acres of off-the-grid Sonoran Desert Landscape to green.

We ask volunteers to help out in the morning for about four hours. Right now, in the heat, we work from 5:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., so about four hours.  If volunteers are not morning people and already have knowledge and experience with permaculture concepts, they can work at their own pace and time.

Thank you for asking!

I can't take it! You are too smart for me! Here is the tiny ad:
