I have a very young grape (about 12” tall) started by my dearest friend from a cutting. I transplanted it and a few days later something ate every leaf. This happened yesterday, Sept. 20. Will this plant recover?
It is very possible that the plant will recover. Just keep watering like you normally wood.
I hope you will let us know if it recovered.

A lot depends on the strength of the root system specially the amount of energy storage in them. Young grape leaves are tasty so companion plants that are not tasty helps to protect them. Rooting the middle of a vine then cutting it off at the mother plant then give a two vines of enough strength and length to get a start against predators. In my case deer will eat small plants but when i have them trained up six feet high the deer just prune them for me.
