"Virginia Approves Regulations for Rainwater Harvesting

The Virginia Department of Health has finalized new regulations on potable rainwater harvesting systems, the 12 VAC 5-635, effective Oct. 21.

These regulations establish guidelines for the collection and reuse of rainwater, ensuring systems operate safely and efficiently. T
The goal is to promote sustainable water practices while protecting public health in Virginia. Compliance with ASSE standards 2110, 21120, and 21130 will be mandatory under the new rules.
“This marks a big step forward for rainwater harvesting” says Heather Kinkade, executive director of ARCSA."

I thank you for bringing this to our attention.

We all need more rainwater harvesting.

I am concerned about the bit this being about a potable water system.

I have not gone to that link so can you explain how the system is making potable water?

If you do not have chemical fallout, all harvested rain can be made potable with time and storage volume.
It has been well covered on this site and does not need rxpensive treatment.

Good to see more environmentally wise things being allowed in more places, everywhere should allow these things of course.

Technically you can capture and use rainwater anywhere in the USA.
If you do it right no treatment is required, but often people ask the question without having done the homework
and get hit with  $44,000 bill.
Why should I lose weight? They make bigger overalls. And they sure don't make overalls for tiny ads:
