I took Heavy Equipment Operator training this summer while I was out of work.

These pics are of me in the front loader, which I rather enjoyed. I've been in an out of skid steers for a few years and had experience with an excavator, no pics tho.

I'll get the proper stuff for the PEP:earthworks... here's these pics for now.

BTW, the training had me in skid steers, front loader, excavator, backhoe, compactors and articulating dump trucks.

Hi Holly;
If you are enjoying running heavy equipment.
Then there are good career opportunities available in equipment operating.
I suggest you find and talk to the local 18 Operating Engineers union about work opportunities in your area.
I am retiring this year after 25 years as a crane operator in the Operating Engineer Union, locals 400-370 & 302
A good career choice for any age, and any gender, I was 40 when I joined.

Thomas,
I did crane operator training, too. I sailed thru the practicals but couldn't pass the written test. Mostly OSHA stuff. I tried twice and failed. Not like, "Oh, damn! One more right and I would have passed!"

More like, "Did I even go to class?!"

Well, load charts. Aced those. Everything else was a bust.

At 54, I'm not gonna join the union. My current job outs me in a front loader and forklift from time to time.
