Best Cross for Heritage Pigs when I want Meat Fast(er)

Hey All,

 We've been raising pigs for a few years now, starting with whoever was on craigslist and getting them in the freezer but now settling towards Kune Kune. Love the breed overall, and they taste great, but I notice now that our cuts are small (like, the tiniest tenderloin you could imagine and ribs that were so small they don't seem worth it) and even pasturing them as much as we can they still convert our kitchen scraps and the small amount of supplementary feed they get into gobs of fat (which is great for soap but I can only use so much rendered lard).
 Anyways, looking to speed up the time it gets them into the freezer and hopefully upgrade the size of our porkchops. I was musing on a Meishan but it appears they have a similar harvest age, have anyone used Kune Kune sows with a boar of a more "production" line that crosses well so you get the benefits of the temperament/pasture ability and more pork more faster?

Hi,
The Kune Kune is a lard pig... which is a group of pigs (mostly smaller) that produce lots of lard. You want a meat/bacon pig which are going to be bigger and longer (but also tend to root more). Maybe a Duroc or Tamworth? I'm not as familiar with pig breeds, but I thought I would reply while we wait for the pig experts.

I have a coworker who is fond of his Idaho Pasture Pigs (IPP). I have no firsthand knowledge either so take it for what its worth.

I raise Gloucestershire old spot Pigs and Red Wattle Pigs. I breed and raise out on pasture.
KK Pigs are just too small. The amount of meet size in cuts isn't work the labor or cost to feed.
I love my GOS heritage pigs for their amazing puppy like tenement. They are so laid back. The Red Wattle is just as friendly but are a more vocal and active hog. The cross makes for a nice min 8 month growth rate on 50% grass 50% grower ration. Because the GOS have 2 even 3 more ribs then the average pig there is about 8 pounds more bacon yielded.
I have raised every heritage hogs from kk to America Guiney Hog, Berkshire to Large Black.
I will continue with my GOS and RW purebred and crosses.
