So there's this bee movie coming soon: Queen of the Sun. And someone told me the amazing bee expert Jacqueline Freeman will be in a movie about bees. I'm wondering if these are one and the same...any one know?

Hi Jocelyn, yep, I'm in the movie. I'm not a bee expert like some of the widely known ones who are interviewed, I'm just a local bee lover who gives Taggart Siegel, the director, a tour of our farm and introduce him to our bees. At another part in the movie they filmed us as I showed one of our bee class students how to collect a swarm.

Next bee class here at the farm is Saturday January 23rd all day. Should be fun. On warm days in winter I see our bees heading out on cleansing flights and in January they can even start gathering sap to make propolis out of. Amazing little beings, aren't they?

warmly,
Jacqueline

I think the first showing will be on March 20th in Portland at a bee conference. I'll post more details as I hear.

We are hosting a workshop March 22nd (monday) with Gunther Hauk, who wrote "Toward Saving the Honeybee." This class is for beekeepers, farmers and vintners.

warmly,
Jacqueline
