This couple started planting trees in a landscape that had all its trees chopped down.  It looked like a desert.  It was a barren hillside.  They planted trees over many years and developed a native living forest in Brazil.  It is now full of many species of birds, plants, animals, and trees.  Check it out:

It takes quite a commitment.  He's basically dedicating his life and finances to the project. He ended up with something wonderful.  It takes a visionary sort of person to do this kind of thing.  Amazing end product.
