Hi All,
Question:
How do you deal with your kids and schedules as a single parent?

Details:
Lots of backstory, but suffice to say, I am looking single parenthood in the face. I was hoping some other single parents out there could give some hints and advice for how to deal with situations, specifically around children and schedules. How do you deal with childcare during school vacations? When do you go shopping for the kids' birthday? Where do they go during summer vacation? How much do the kids help around the house? Is there anyone who has dealt with these sorts of things, and is willing to share?

Matt, this is a great question.  I am sorry to hear you are going through this.

When my kids were young I had a rocky marriage being a single parent off and on, though I had a great support system.

I feel most parents do the best that they can.  And what is best for the kids.

I worked so the childcare was taken care of.  I used a church daycare, my neighbors daughter in law, family, and other folks over the years.

Shopping for gifts never was an issue.

We had an incident that happened while our daughter was riding her bicycle so we bought our homestead and the rocky marriage resolved itself.

If we don't do the shopping, we won't have anything for dinner. And I've invited this tiny ad:
