I'm a father and husband. I'm packing up my family, leaving the rat race and headed to Montana to be neighbors with wilderness. The endless stripmall has got me beat and I'd rather my son grow up with nature and a few solid guys, than a bunch of people who look right through you on their way to ZOOOOMWORLD, GOTTA BLAST, GOGOGO, I'M LATE FOR WORK, I'M LATE FOR DINNER, I'M LATE FOR LIFE!! WAS THAT A NEW SPEED BUMP OR A SMALL CHILD IN MY ROAD?

I've got plenty of passion for giving back to the community and I am certain building the church is an act of community engagement and service, not sitting on a bench once a week. I've been involved in real estate development and building, so I have have hopes to apply the skills I've gathered in corporate American life to my own personal "great reset" story. I'm bringing good news wherever I go, so you may think I'm crazy (I am).

My basic vision is this: If God is sovereign, I should be "sovereign" to this country. Building for myself is the foundation to me living for God instead of my mortgage payment. Sprinkle in some financial magic (passive income buzzwords) and I've got myself in a position of strength to not only help myself and my family, but to help OTHERS!
Art, storytelling, community is more important than food for my mission for God, but I need food to make art! So, I love food. Bread, beer, dairy. Bacon egg and cheese anything, breakfast anytime, pretzals, more bread - sourdough.

Who's established in the Bitterroot valley? What projects are you working on? What are the community needs? What do you have enough of, what do you need more of in the area?

I'm not trying to open up some cuban asian fusion coffee shop selling smoke foam swirls with sugar sprinkie dinkies in it for the low price of $7.99! WOw such a deal! Mom, can I have one??

I emancipate people with conversation (good news, you don't have to be a slave on Earth.)
I the sourdough bakery I grew up with (and in). I see wine, music and laughter. I have this in my house, but I'm shuffling my deck so I can share this with others - God willing with the masses, but for now, just with some other families and men who have ears to hear. We have work to do. I'm not depressed, so the Great Depression is not my story.

I'm just getting started, baby!

So, I'll ask - Who's doing what and where? What do you need more or less of? What challenges are you facing? What opportunities are "wide-open" in your eyes? I'm asking about western Montana, Bitterroot valley, but please, anyone jump in to chat and share passion!

Welcome to permies.  The intentional community which is connected with the founder of permies.com is in that area give-or-take.

Hi Wade;
Welcome to Permies!
Welcome to Montana when you arrive.
Depending on how far down the Bitteroot valley you travel, the Wheaton ranch is an hour or an hour and a half away towards Idaho.
Consider trying Paul's community; he has several programs available that you might be interested in.
Have you visited the Bitteroot?
I have to tell you that the one highway (US93)  is known to be full of people speeding off to Missoula, or I-90.
The most common bumper sticker is "Pray for me, I drive 93."
Land prices or rental prices are through the roof. Stupid crazy prices.
You may find that you need a different drainage to purchase or rent in.
Paul and I are in the lower Clark Fork drainage. The Flathead area, away from Kalispell, is nice.
Polson, Hot Springs, Columbia Falls, Libby, Troy, or even up the Yakk River are all nice locations.

And then we all jump out and yell "surprise! we got you this tiny ad!"
