I replied to a few posts in Paul's
Residual Income thread and then decided to start this new thread. In this new topic, I would like to focus on creating and marketing information products like e-books. Because I started thinking a bit deeper about the whole process and discovered that there is more to it than meets the eye.
You not only have to create a fantastic little e-book with a kick ass cover or a DVD, etc. But, simultaneously, you have to be thinking of ways of marketing it and reaching your target market. In this case - just because you built it - doesn't mean that they will come! For example, Paul is able to talk about the
Rocket Mass Heater DVD through these forums. He has an active audience already that he can market to. Do you currently have an active audience that you can market to or do you have to develop one for your information product? And what are some ways to develop one?
I am considering starting a blog about my expertise. Then I can start cranking out articles before I can begin trying to market my information products - which need to be developed. Although, this is one way to start - it might not be the best way. There are multiple ways to get this going. I just want to start taking some action.
