I'm looking for ecovillages that are already established in RJ, RS, MG, and SP, or southern brazil in general. Internet searches haven't done too well, I usually find directories with broken links.
I've only taken one permaculture design course, and I'm pretty sure it's not sufficient for me to start my own. I'm guessing going to one and working there is the best way towards getting a self-sustaining permaculture plot started.
I haven't heard too much about permaculture in Brasil, although that seems like a perfect location for it.
Hopefully some of our users from that region will see your message, and respond.
We would love to see much more activity from that region, both in practice, and 'online' here.
obrigado Thiago-
been searching about for permaculture in Brazil myself, your link is great. do you have any experience with any of the organizations in Bahia? I am interested to visit if possible.

You gonna have to check yourself in Bahia, the region I know pretty well is the south. But here in Brazil everybody is very welcoming, so once you know someone you get to know everybody. Check also this websites:
Obrigado Thiago!
I've ended up in viamao, close to porto alegre, to begin permaculture plot in a community. I look forward to visiting these ecovillages once our own production is up and running.
Welcome to Rio Grande do Sul. Although there aren't many Permies here, the numbers are growing and there are a couple of Permaculture based projects close to you. I live in Porto Alegre and too I am looking around the region for a small (1-2 Hectare) property that I can get stuck into. How are Viamao and Aguas Claras?
We have started an Eco Farm in Nova Friburgo, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 2014. Our goal is to become fully self-sustainable in food, energy and construction materials. We have build and finished 160 m2 cob house and are now building a second house. We are now applying organic farming and eatable forrest. We also have build a bridge with natural stones and recycled wood.
