Right now, aged 39 so not exactly young haha, my goal is to move into a rental house and be done with apartments, which is happening this month!  Turn the small yard into a good growing space for fruit/veg/flowers/eventually mushrooms, get a small compost system going, including buying a Bokashi-type machine to compost meat and citris.  Also start selling vintage from my living room with a type B home occupation permit.

Future goals include eventually, maybe in five years?, renting or buying a house with a bigger yard which will hopefully be zoned mixed use so I can have a more lucrative store in there.  And continue the other work-related things I do (mental health peer support work, and singing professionally).

My husband, aged 28, so probably more in your zone of what is a young person, is in a certificate for retail management program at community college, paid for by his work, and he hopes to move up to assistant store director, or perhaps actual store director.  But eventually, like the 10 year plan, is to continue working toward fluency in ASL and become an interpreter, once he's making money running the grocery store he will be able to afford to pursue that goal, its stepping stones.  He also is learning to blacksmith and wants to make things we can sell.

I am thirty two, and feeling like I am still just 'settling in'. I've accomplished getting higher education, obtaining my first home, and getting married so far.

I, personally, try and keep a vision of where I would like to be in thirty years but I don't have concrete standards as life has a way of throwing things at you.

I think I would like to be a Dad. The idea of kids is scary, but that is because of a sense of responsibility and doing things right by them. I think this is a healthy feeling, I just don't know when the shoe will drop.

I would also like to have enough land to expand my personal livestock operation. I'd love to have pigs some day. For my own knowledge and to keep a freezer stocked really.

I enjoy my career and what I do, it isn't something that gives me great satisfaction but it is something that allows me to pursue my own interests comfortably.

I take it day by day, but I try and steer myself to hit short and long term goals along the way. It has been a good ride so far. I am fortunate.

Every plan is a little cooler if you have a blimp. And a tiny ad.
