Does anyone know the going rate in the Michigan area for gravel and sand stump age?  I have a 15A pit I purchased along with 10A of woods.  I am thinking of opening the pit back up but was curious what the going rate was for same and gravel.

Welcome to the forum!

I cant help with that question.

I am curious, will your gravel business be cash and carry?  Or will you deliver?

Do you have the equipment to load the gravel?

These  questions would make a difference in the going rate?  Also how many yards?

I would just be having someone dig out the sand and gravel and process it with their own equipment.  I am just the land owner.

We have a place like that south of us.

I recently heard they went out of business.

Not a lot of folks want to get out and shove their own gravel.  At least not my family ...

It all depends on whether there's another similar one nearby, if there isn't then you might be able to make a go of it, even though the one mentioned above had to finish up.  If there's too much supply and not enough demand that happens, but if there aren't similar options near you then you'd had more of a captive audience, as it were.

Offhand, I think the monetary value depends on what you have. What is the composition/size of your "pit run" gravel? Also, is it sharp sand or round sand?

There's nothing wrong with having a commercial outfit stop by and have a look. They will look after their own interest of course, but they will also offer insights.

If you do a commercial business thing, be aware that neighbours are hypersensitive to dust and high speed gravel truck traffic. A big outfit near my sister's place limits their trucks to 20kph on the residential side roads, with water trucks to suppress dust as needed, and the drivers will wave if you're working in the garden. So everybody's cool with it.

If nothing else, a self-serve gravel pit for neighbours would be a magnificent asset for trading and a little cash. My 2c.

Acetylsalicylic acid is aspirin. This could be handy too:
