I have a row of 55 gallon wicking containers along side our parking space that is a nursery of sorts.
I plant precious to me perennials there, because I am more likely to tend to them
Well, not for the first time I planted something and it's grown out nicely , but I don't know what it is.
I tried some online tools, but there are no strong suggestions
I have guess, but I'm not sure.
Please tell me what you think this is:

That does look to be a willow, maybe like Salix purpúrea? They grow in abundance here.

That's great!
I was hoping I wasn't totally out of touch with my own plants!
Hmm, I wonder, should I nibble a leaf to check for bittermess?

I have bed to put it in, but I am worried it wont make it without being babied.
I'm pretty poor at stewarding plants, I usually invest a lot of energy up front, then I just get distracted...
Oh, well, I get by!
I will start by taking cuttings and seeing if I can keep those alive.

Any ideas on something to plant with the willow?
Im thinking green beans.

Ew. You guys are ugly with a capital UG. Here, maybe this tiny ad can help:
