I have a jotul wood burning stove model f3..  Mine was purchased about 30 years ago.  The stove itself has 4 knock out plugs to insert the stove pipe.  I want to move the flue exit from the top to the back.  Therefore I need something to plug the hole that will be in the  top of the stove.  I did locate a drawing the showed that jotul made such a part.  But, there was no further information.

I am looking for someone who can provide me with the name of the part and where I can buy it.

Hi Nancy,

I appreciate the effort.  This is for a heating stove..not cook stove.  The hole to be plugged is 6”.   That said, you are there on concept.

Here is a picture of the hole:

Nancy, with your lead on the right term…it looks like the part number is 12021080.

I just got a PM from someone indicating a different part number. It could be an issue of color. Anyway, a phone number of a supplier was also provided. So, I seem to be much bette4 off than I was 24 hours ago.

The term Jotul uses is: Cover  Smoke Outlet Top.  It looks like the part costs about $100. Being cast iron, I am sure shipping is a killer.

I have an ancient Jotul that was discarded by a friend. He had a burning desire ( sorry, that was an open goal) to endure a major snowstorm while wearing beachwear in his house, but after five days of overzealous fires the Jotul became a No- tul.  With cracks on one side and in the rear of the stove, it leaked smoke and CO.

I adopted the forlorn Jotul after it was banished to an outbuilding, using cob and firebrick inside as a form of CPR.  Working fine in my home now for years
John, could you not use the rear smoke cover on the top , as they seem identical on my stove? Or close off the top with cob, cast iron or another way?  Just a thought.....

Hi Rico,

And a good thought it was.  Especially because it is similar to my thoughts.  But, I did some reading, and I learned the back plate breaks into 4 pieces as it is struck with a hammer.    I have found a part and a supplier.  I say “a” part, because the part I found is black and my stove is green.  This is not too horrible of a solution.  Having a round black circle on top of the green stove could look acceptable.  My house is already decorated in “Early Antique Mall”.  But I will probably spend another day or two looking.  I should be happy that I found a part for an out of production stove.

Great minds, etc.  I'm honored to know our brain waves, although circuitous,  experienced at least one overlap in recorded history.
Oddly enough, I need to perform the same surgery on my Jotul in our living room ; my wife thinks the current motif is awful, something close to "Redneck Baroque" .  Switching to the rear exit would improve my 6" pipe angle, yet I keep putting this idea , sorry again, on the back burner.

Let's raise a toast to green stoves globally!  Here is mine, one side without a cracked Lion of Judah
