giant Austrialian Gippsland worm

I showed these pictures around the table here last night to the first set of RMH winter projects participants here at paul's project, and everyone was blown away.

"What do they eat?" "How large/good are their castings?" Those were some of the questions between the oohs and ahhs.

Unlike other types of worm, the Giant Gippsland rarely, if ever, comes to the surface, but its location can be detected by the audible gurgling that their bodies make as they slither through their labyrinthine burrows.
