Hey everyone,

I'm a huge fan of Sepp Holzer's methods and am actively implementing many of them on my farm, but I have a specific question about two items that I'm hoping someone who's actually been to the Krameterhof (or otherwise had intimidate knowledge of their operation) might be able to answer.

First: What kind of facilities does Holzer use to work (sorting, checking, castrating?, etc.) his cattle? Does he use facilities at all, or does he somehow do everything in earth shelters, or does he use honest to goodness corrals, or something else?

Second: I've read in Sepp Holzer's Permaculture that he constructs nest boxes for hens out of timbers placed among nettles or other thorns. Does anyone know exactly how these are constructed? Are his birds rotated around the farm requiring the nests to be moved with them? Assuming his birds are in a semi-wild setting, how does he train the birds to lay within the timbers... or do the birds just naturally seek out the shelter of the nettles, find the nests there, and it all just kind of works out?

I appeciate your help. Thanks all!

Chris
