Synopsis

"Sepp Holzer, the Austrian farmer and forester practices "permaculture" a different kind of farming on his mountain property. With this certain form of organic-agriculture, he is very convincing and successfully. Contrary to all conventional rules and despite annual average temperatures of 4.5°C and an altitude of between 900m-1400m, he cultivates cherries, apples, mushrooms, kiwis, lemons, pumpkins, potatoes and zucchinis. He has started big permaculture-projects in Brazil, Columbia, Peru and Venezuela." From: cultureunplugged.com
Sepp Holzer is author of many interesting books that you can find on our book review grid

I give this film 9 out of 10 acorns

Well when you look up Sepp Holzer's name online you encounter tons of documents, muste be said that the second score is the page from Paul Wheatons Richsoil: Sepp Holzers permaculture. if you look well many video's ar available on Sepp. But this film the agro-rebel was the first one to tell us Sepps story, and it still has a strong appeal on me.
I like the simplicity with which he shares his story. Knowing something of his methods helps the viewer understand what they are looking at. The film is not educational in the sense that it doesn't explain all that Sepp has achieved and built while we see the film.
May be it is even better this way because it flows very gently, like one of Sepps water features, from start to end.
This is a founding piece of work to understand the Sepp, and it can be viewed on and on, little gems of knowledge can be noticed every time.
I highly recommend watching this film, the director has shared it in free vision on the link you find on the summary.

I give this film 9 out of 10 acorns.

A film about an Austrian farmer who dared to do things a little different. This movie delves into a story about nature, a story about man, and a story about adaptation. I thought I would watch this film while multitasking but found myself focused on the movie quite quickly. The discussions of agroforestry and permaculture are intriguing and welcome. The diversity in visual shots along with supplemented music/discussion are well come. I believe the videographer has done an excellent job giving the viewer a feeling of the different seasons on Sepp's mountain. We stand on the shoulders of giants who came before us to pioneer the subject of Permaculture. Sepp Holzer is a substantial part of the foundation we work from in the modern era.

Overall, I recommend this movie to all people interested in Permaculture.
