Van Jones: Plastic waste, poor people and social justice

Van Jones discusses the social justice aspect of the environmental movement and how poor people are much more likely to be impacted by toxic gick given that they have few financial resources and thus fewer choices on where to live and what to buy. He also reiterates something that is near and dear to my own heart - we all live in the same biosphere. Pollute at one point, and sooner or later it shows up at another point. We cannot throw this stuff "away". We cannot afford to keep supporting a culture of disposability - not with products and not with people. He illustrates his point with a very compelling story of what happens when we recycle a plastic water bottle.

I want to hug Van. I truly do.
