My friend has 3 kitties with ear mites. The vet wants a lot of money. What alternatives are there?

We have effectively used olive oil.

I have learned to shop around for vets.  The price differences can be huge. I have seen vets 30 miles from one another have a 1400% difference in price.

We raised Persian cats for over twenty years.
Liz said she used Revolution, which you buy over the counter at the vet.
As  John commented, shop around.
Olive oil is on hand; it wouldn't hurt to give it a try.
