I built this bed for my mother.
The soil is at 3 feet off the ground and about 10" deep.
I filled the bottom with a double layer of sweet gum balls, for aeration and weight reduction.

The bed  is built of cedar fence pickets.
The hoops are bicycle rims, supported by bits of old wooden crutches.
I'm want to enclose the sides and ends, with netting and/or plastic, but I'm still working through how I want to do that.
