I am sooo discouraged. There are so few houses on the market and every time something comes out, it’s already sold. I don’t get it. I’m really trying to find alternatives like buying land and living in a car. Has anyone ever found an Otis to buy their land from? I’m just looking for a small dry place where I can plant a garden and have a yard for my dog to run in. I’m looking in north of Montréal Québec and it’s been ridiculous.

When my sister in law passed away, we had multiple offer for over the asking price.

This website is a lot of fun: https://countrylifedreams.com/. Nice mix of fixers and affordable ready to live in places, with the occasional impossibly expensive splendid manor.

I also enjoy this one, though the properties listed don't always have much land to play with. Exclusively cheap options around the country.

Really wish I had known about these when I was first looking for place a decade ago.
