61F w/micro-homestead seeks connection

I’m a single 61-year-old female living on what I like to call my little micro-Homestead. I’ve only been here a couple of months, but have already put in lots of work on the property trying to get things ready before the snow flies and everything slows down. I have big dreams and plans for self-sufficiency and hopeful of being able to bring my vision to life.
Would like to connect with like-minded and kind-hearted folks who bring joy, humor, and integrity to the world. Age is not that important to me because as someone 61 I can easily keep up with anyone 20 years my junior so I feel like age is really less of a factor than who someone is on the inside.
Looking to share ideas, plans, adventures, and hopefully a true connection that enriches both of our lives.

Hi, im new here and cant seem to get a profile picture to upload for some reason.  I am also 61 and starting my life into off grid living here in Ontario Canada. I have been totally off grid since July of this year and busy getting ready for a cold winter. Would very much like to share experiences in this lifestyle with you.

Hello Kelley. I'm Jack. I live in Nebraska. I recently retired. When I was about 8 years old, my father retired from Jet Propulsion Labs in Pasadena, CA in 1968 and packed us up to move to a small acreage on Lake Superior outside Marquette, Michigan. We never made it. Instead, as we traveled north, he found 120 acres of dense woodland in Northern Minnesota and we ended up homesteading there. I've put many miles and a lifetime of living between that homestead and where I am today, but my whole heart is dedicated to creating that life again. I am about to embark on a road trip to visit potential homestead properties around the country and I have a lifetime of practical skills and more recently study of modern homesteading practices. I'm divorced since 2008. I've dated, of course, both younger women and women my age, but no one a good candidate for my purposes. Either they are too tied to a metropolitan or suburban lifestyle or have no physical energy to  pursue a life on a homestead. If you'd care too talk, it would be quite welcome. This is a rather black and white description of who I am and what I'm about. I can provide a great deal more color if you have the inclination!
