I'm a father of six children, two of which are now young, single adults, and the oldest of which is now looking to marry. We're members at an Orthodox Presbyterian Church. Unfortunately, people in the OPC and reformed churches more generally seem to be at least as committed to consumerism as other Americans. So I'd really like to connect with any other Christians in the OPC or similar denominations that are pursuing alternatives to mainstream consumerism, especially but not only for the sake of helping my children meet future spouses that share both religious and lifestyle values. Our family lives in North Carolina. We have a small farm and homestead through which the good Lord has provided our family with endless good work, bountiful good food, and has met all our minimal dollar needs. We've especially focused on the food part of self-sufficiency but are very interested in learning and doing more and more in other areas. Our children mostly want to continue living a similar lifestyle. If you're a reformed Christian here, please get in touch. Even if you're not single or don't have single children I'd like to get to know more Christians that share an appreciation for small farms and self-sufficient living.
