These are really hard to write without sounding like you're making a cult. Let's try anyway.

What are we doing?
Establishing an intentional community in Liberty, Maine centered on communal living, resource sharing, and food security. Our goal is to build a lifestyle where food production, storage, and land stewardship are the backbone of our daily rhythm.

Why are we doing it?
We want control over our lives in a way that modern capitalism doesn't offer.

Where are we doing it?
40 acres of mostly wooded land in Maine. This site is already owned, has a main structure with plenty of room, and is far enough from cities that building isn't a problem.

Who are we looking for?
People who want to work hard for a future that looks easier instead of more difficult.
Must love dogs, sorry but they were here first.
Someone who can communicate. This is super important.
Anyone with experience or interest in gardening, raising animals, or general homesteading projects.

Where is this community at, maturity wise?
Infancy! At this point we are looking for a person or a few people who want to build this community from the ground up. We do have space if people want to live on site, and the option to build a home or move something like a tiny home here would also be available.

What are our next steps?
Building infrastructure for food from compost to storage.
Finding some amazing community members.

Art studio with hosted artists a few times a year.

How can I get involved?
Reach out here and we will connect.

Oh, who are we?
A late thirties millennial couple.
Not religious.
Have lived in almost every corner and region of the US.
Incredibly interested in communal living and shared resources.
Really cool?
Lovers of boardgames and animals.

Would be interested in talking with you if nothing else. Sounds similar to what we intended to do.

Swindler is an interesting forum name choice...

More than happy to chat. We've been looking into intentional communities for almost a decade now, and couldn't find many that were in a region we liked and didn't revolve around religion.

It's a name you can trust.

Do you have any questions? I almost certainly have answers even if I didn't put them in the original post.

Aroostook is on our road trip bucket list for this summer. Any recommendations on spots to check out?

Robert there is a strong Amish community in Smyrna just outside of Houlton Maine.  English with like minded views have settled in the area as well.

This is awesome, good luck to you.  I'd join you but my wife and I recently bought a similar size property in Maine about 2 hours west of you.  Interested to hear how you make out with finding like minded folks.  Welcome to the neighborhood.
