Almost finished my raised bed!

I've almost filled up my raised bed. It's a sort of three permaculture ideas in one system. It's a wooden sided version of a horsehoe bed which I've heard so much about via Toby Hemenway's "Gaia's Garden" (got to stop reading that awesome book!). It is layered in lasagne style with cardboard at the bottom, the horse manure in the middle and finally topsoil at the top, with an inch finally of compost planned from the local composting centre.

With that much in the way of wood chips, I think you didn't need the cardboard.

Is the wood treated with anything?  If the wife didn't like the idea of logs for the border, howzabout nothing on the border?  Or maybe big rocks?

Paul there aren't many rocks around of a large enough size.

not so sure i see a real advantage in the design, but that might come to individual taste, i have very small yard space but rectangular beds are still the only suited design.

truly looks like an easy to maintain garden area..to me..i love when you don't have to bend over much..even someone in a wheelchair and a long handled set of tools might be able to maintain a goodly part of it..so ..way to go
