I've been given something wonderful, and I'm not sure where to start. My sisters were visiting recently, and one of them makes ceramics - mostly turned pots, but she brought an extra gift for me this time. She made various shapes that were designed to hang as a mobile - like people hang over babies cradles. The ones I have are dragonflies and fishes, and I'm thinking of making something to hang in my polytunnel. I have a bit of a pond in there, well actually it's a builders crate, but I'm hoping to make it look a bit more natural and plant it up eventually, currently it is my dipping pond for watering.
I'm thinking of having the dragonflies in a tier above the fishes. The dragonflies look like they will hang flat, (so seen best from underneath) whereas the fishes will be viewed best from the side.
As well as the ceramic pieces I also can cut plenty of sticks of various shapes and sizes. I was thinking of using fishing line to hang them, since that will be virtually invisible, although I may have some alternative thread stashed away somewhere.
How do I come up with a design that will work? I'm worried that it will end up lopsided, and with so many parts it is difficult to manage. Any suggestions on how to control it all, given that I can't balance it without hanging it, and I think it will end up quite big (and heavy)!

She laughed at how small it was, and now it is even smaller. Poor tiny ad:
