This could be any nature oriented song, but we can post a list here, so that organizers can source this list for activities at Permie Summer Camps and in Forest Schools all over.

I think a good example of a Permie Song would be Edelweiss (Sound of Music) where the flower is the symbol of what is natural and how the nazis are unnatural. "Bless my homeland forever" - that's indeed a permitude: gratitude for harmony with nature. I see it as a Permaculture Anthem. I'm sure there's more songs out there that we all can think of.

Thanks!

ROCK!! Thanks Dave! This is exactly the breadth & mix I was thinking. If 50 people do just that, we have a large database of great permie songs!!

I agree. For several years after the movie, that song was on the lips of thousands of children. It is a beautiful song (some say that it is the best song that Rogers and Hammerstein ever wrote - it was the last song they ever wrote together), with lyrics that any child can easily pick up.

Blossom of snow,
may you bloom and grow.
Bloom and grow forever...
...Bless my homeland forever
