agave hearts on a truck


Agave flower spikes apparently are rich in sugars and are farmed and fermented in Mexico to make tequila. They also grow wild in India as a bit of a nuisance - but (the problem is the solution!) coordinated harvesting means that India has a new industry making tequila.

Presumably the plant isn't productive enough for an energy crop (alcohol fuel).
