Well, it is basically a honey super - not a whole hive. It also seems like a lot of effort making the kit up, while at the same time unduly restricting space to the bees (they get the volume of the jars, not the whole box and it looks impossible/difficult to add additional supers above.
To me it looks like a complex and comparatively expensive gimick. A solution looking for a problem.
