I think these are ready, but I've never grow them before.
I honestly didn't remember it was growing in this barrel untill I went through and weeded it!
They are ripe. But in case you try a raw one and get put off by the bitter and soapy taste, don't throw them away and try sun-drying first. It will turn sweeter that way. My guess is that freshly picked berries produce antioxidants and undergo other changes in response to sunlight. Anyway, I like snacking on dried berries and they can be stored in an airtight container too.
