My name is Emalie and I just moved here from southern Oregon....where did those mountains go? I've been gardening all my life, and got involved in organic farming about four years ago. I received my PDC from a sustainable living institution called Aprovecho in southern Oregon. Since then, I've never stopped gardening or farming and I'm always thinking about how to improve the way things are done .
Having just moved to the Ottawa area, I'm hoping to get involved in more permaculture initiatives and would like to find some projects that I could earn some money at as well. I'm a very passionate, motivated person who is would love to lend my skills, and hard work to any fellow permaculture practitioners in need of some support.

Welcome to permies.com Emalie!

While you wait for someone from Ottawa or Ontario to talk to you, I did a quick online search. If you did not know of these already, here are some groups that you might be interested in: Permaculture Ottawa, Permaculture Institute of Eastern Ontario, Whole Village, Ringing Cedar Project, Earthwalk (this link has been set to the Ecovillage platform for Earthwalk in Ontario, advised to contact them through email and not the website given on the platform because Earthwalk's website said they were hacked by Syria and it gave the geolocation of my computer, if you do visit Earthwalk's website, please install a geolocation hider like the add-on for Chrome called ZenMate), and if you're interested in visiting beyond Ontario here is a list of groups by Ecovillage,

Hi Emalie

I live just outside of Cobden (Google it), on a 32 acre Homestead. Lots of bush, and good land for permaculture practices. Have some livestock, mainly poultry and goats. Heat with wood, and just recently fired up my Rocket Outdoor Oven. I have room for 1 or (a couple) available for Sept/2014. Would love to chat with you about current and upcoming projects. Please leave me a message on Purple Mooseages.

Thanks. K
