Blackberry wine

Well, it's about that time. I'm not going to miss it this year dammit.

I've done a little of this before, but I'm curious who else has, what your recipe was, and how it turned out. I think I'm going to try and go nuts and get 25 gallons going over the next couple weeks.

I am interested, but I've never tried. I get way too many to eat, and it would be interesting to try to make wine out of blackberries.

Yeah I've had several in various communities. I even was kinda involved in making some once. It turned out a little on the rough side (high airy 'alcoholy' taste) but rich and berry deep too. And effective. I thinking about jacking a bunch if we get a good freeze and getting something a little more concentrated, viscus, and hopefully sweetly smooth.

I haven't, but if I were looking for a recipe, I'd start at Jack Keller's site.

I made it in a largely unsuccessful alcohol making binge.
The alcohol-making business was a bit much fiddling around for my taste, although I know there could have been less.
And who knows, if we weren't so keen to do it 'properly' with all the primary/secondary fermentation malarky and siphoning everything everywhere,
we might have ended up with wine, rather than vinegar
