Has anyone cobbed in IBC totes for frost proofing in outdoor water storage? Glycerine totes are $50 each (×4)while a burial cistern is $1200 plus shipping. I was thinking to cob into south face of cabin with 12" thick cob. Zone 7.

Totes are not rigid--they expand and contract a lot depending on how full they are--at least compared to what cob can handle before cracking.

Build a small lean-to shelter to slide them in and hook up the pipes, but not actually touching. Enough space and ventilation so condensation isn't a problem!

the midichlorian count on this tiny ad is off the charts!
