Howdy Steve, I have ten acres in the foothills of South Eastern Wyoming. About 7800 ft elivation.
Not a full time living place. Just one week a month right now.
Lots of
water , springs and streams.
In the transition zone between sagebrush and aspen, then on up the mountain into fur and pine forests. Saskatoons and wild roses are plentiful.
The soil is deep loam from years and years of aspen leaves falling and composting.
Lots of
mushrooms and all sorts of wild flowers , grasses and shrubs.
Lots of wildlife,
Deer, Elk, Moose, fox, bear etc. So protection of domesticated plants is a must.
I have been slowly clearing out some of the standing deadwood, making
hugel beds and building fences.
I have been scattering seeds and pits of any fruits my family eats and hope to try some nursery stock in the next few years.
I have a
project thread with pictures here...

What kind of advise would you give me?
