I started my pathway journey utilizing thick, chunky, woodchips in a heavy layer to prevent anything from growing underneath. Fungus helped chew down the arborist chip and I have found that I need to re-up the amount of chip every year.

I have recently started moving towards a living pathways model that has been pioneered by 'Farmer Jesse' below.
