Yea, I Know and also maybe ironic that the US isn't really supposed to be a democracy but I like the sound of it anyway. In truth, Cohen's "The Future" or "Everybody Knows" might actually be more appropriate to the situation, I was just trying to stay a little more positive.

Perfectly fitting song....as are the others that you mention....Leonard Cohen's music is universal

...same with Neil who got citizenship here in order to vote in this election...his music has always crossed boundaries.

and since I would much rather play music than discuss here's there's American Stephen Stills 'For What it's Worth' ...still timely after all these years.

This is what is happening in my community at the moment...even made it to national news stories.
I feel the rhetoric of the current occupant has allowed those with these kind of beliefs to feel free to express them and act out...I don't doubt the thoughts and behaviors were already there, it's just that we now have had a bully of a president who has encouraged violence among those of different ideologies...my 'opinion' of course.

I'm very proud of our community that said no, we won't accept this.
There is an interesting political divide that for the most part does not effect neighborly day to day life here.
https://www.npr.org/2020/11/09/933052625/police-chief-resigns-in-arkansas-after-death-to-all-marxist-democrats-posts

The police chief of a small town in Arkansas resigned Saturday after posts attributed to him calling for violence and harassment against Democrats were widely circulated. The town's mayor says the inflammatory remarks don't reflect the community.

Mayor Elliott strongly condemned the posts, saying, "The Marshall community does not in any way support or condone bullying or threats of violence to anyone of any political persuasion!"

I've been out hiking at the Buffalo River so I guess I missed something here?

Thanks R. Ranson!
My original post was really just intended to be a happy, relieved expression that I wanted to share and I said right there I didn't really want to 'discuss' differences of opinions...hahaha...
I should have known better of course if I hadn't been so single minded at that moment.

I would be perfectly happy if this thread was locked.

Thank you r ranson for doing whatever you did with my post.  I suppose people won't appreciate my sense of humor.  I have watched many of times and you are really good at helping people not get in to trouble.  I don't want my apples decimated or worse!

So this is my new post.  I am respectively not so relieved.  I am extremely passionate about my country and the society I work for.  If I open my big mouth more I will probably hurt someones feeling, so I am going to go out and dig up some baby persimmons trees and plant them in a more productive area in our food forest.

Thanks again r.
