Welcome Dave, looking forward to reading your book.

Guarren, hello. I'm also in New Hampshire.

So I ran the winner picker app in the forum software and only one of the winners was on the daily-ish email...

Andi Houston

Congratulations Andi!

I sent you an email to ask for the email address of the person that first referred you to Permies.com. That person (if qualified) will also get a copy of the book.

Congratulations Andi!

You may want to check that daily-ish mail thing again Adrien because I think something somewhere may be broken. I also receive them, and I am sure I am not the only other person who does. In fact, that is how I found out Dave Jacke would be here answering questions.

Bummer! Life picked a bad week to keep me from reading the forums.

Anyway, belated welcome, Dave! I bought EFG last year, and took almost a year to finish it. Best explanation of cation exchange capacity I've read.

I'm also on the daily-ish email list, that's also how I found out Dave was going to be here. Congrats Andi Houston!

I am on the daily-ish email list as well. Who won the trip and the signed copy of the project book?

Did I misunderstand something somewhere? I was kind of bummed out that many of us who DO get the daily-ish email were mistakenly overlooked for the book giveaway, but I understand mistakes happen. However, it looks like we seem to have missed out on the Q & A with Dave Jacke as well. I thought he would be here answering questions and joining in discussions this week. Is it some other week, or is the discussion just somewhere else? I was very interested in hearing what he had to say about food forests, so the lack of response is kind of disappointing. Am I looking in the wrong place?

Deb, Dave was there last week and this was announced on the daily-ish email. I forgot to un-sticky the post about the promo.

Adrien,

Yes, I know it was last week -- I posted two questions for him on the 18th in this thread. (And as I mentioned before, I did get the dailyish email -- its how I knew he was going to be here). I just don't see any responses to the questions in this thread. Were we supposed to ask our questions somewhere else?

I believe that we were supposed to be asking our questions in the forest garden forum, not specifically in this thread. I may be mistaken though.

He answered questions on the forest garden forum. As stated in the first post, this thread is only to say welcome to David.

I missed that part last week. (But then the post was edited 4 times, so I can't tell how much changed from the first post to the one on 22 April.) I guess I will read more carefully for future Q & As.

I indeed modified the post to add links, correct a mistake, to make it sticky and to unsticky it at the end of the promotion. However, I did not add the mention that post in this thread don't count later. If you look at previous promotions, the rules are always the same.

I am taking note of the confusion and next book promo, I will make sure it is clear that posts in the welcoming thread will not count.
