Since mans harnessing of fire ( with various levels of understanding, we have co-evolved around its use,for practical purposes we can say that
we recognize the burning eyes and stinging noses good clues that a heating unit is malfunctioning. We have survived and evolved with these
" Skills "
One of the most important parts of a good D.I.Y. Rocket build is an understanding of how our fire works in our rocket !
Carbon Monoxide IS a Dangerous gas needing only the opportunity to be concentrated in an enclosed place, or very long exposure times to
concentrate In Our Oxygen carrying Red blood cells !
Here is a good/bad place to mention cigarette smokers who are able to tolerate Elevated levels of Carbon Monoxide to get their 'Fix' -
nicotine!
Fortunately Carbon monoxide is a highly flammable gas and readily burns up -converts to carbon dioxide which again, if CO2 gets high in the
presence of fire/flame to cause a displacement of Oxygen (like a closed room ) will cause a poor burn and the production of those molecules
that burn our eyes and sting our nose !
Only by totally ignoring these warnings are we liable to get into trouble, and by that time your checked and functioning Smoke alarm will
have gone off ! To be safe, tape the smoke pipe joints and cover the pipe with clay slip to both seal and provide a surface to which the cob
will adhere tightly, any cracks in your final structural COB coat(s) can also be deal with with clay slip !

Host and Hostess find that their Rocket has a tendency to not ''Draft'' well, and some other problems, eventually tracing it down to a loose
Clean-out cap ! other than ''monkey fingers'' and yearly clean-outs this probably will not ever be a problem for you ! A.L.
