2 weeks ago the nest was empty and I thought it was old/unused. This past weekend I decided to help the wood frame from falling over and was startled by the bird, i did not get a good look. I left the nest relatively undisturbed, while removing some wood and propping up the frame. Hopefully the mother is there next time I visit and I will follow up with species. I would guess Robin.

My lucky #

I've been thinking about posting some of the regularly preferred content on to other threads. I hope this can find more audience as well as contributing to other discussions beside my own BEL. Starting week 6, the woofers decided to stay, no surprise. We made an amazing soup from the garden this evening. It went like this...
Planting 3 sisters at Allerton Abbey, so I got to clear some walking onions  (4 buckets!). Guess we're having onion soup for diner. Sautéed about the "bulbs" with chopped sunchokes, coconut oil, garlic salt and black pepper in a pressure cooker. The added scallion tops with about 4 cups of water, parsley, celery seed, and paprika. Cooked 20 mins. Topped with Sautéed Morel and oyster mushrooms (seasoned with butter, Chipotle, salt and pepper, chilli flakes) stinging nettle leak garnish amd a splash of aminos.

This soup was slapping! Layers of flavors! Enough to feed 8-10

I was presumptuous to think 4 buckets of Walking Onions could be processed easily. Its been on going jokes about Onions, and we are creatively suggesting some interesting ways to consume. We will have a large supply preserved through dried and frozen techniques, as well as eating everyday in different ways. My favorite idea (by Catherine) was "fritters" which quickly turned into cornmeal battered onion sticks (not rings)... I might attempt tomorrow evening.

Solarium wall is making slow progress on my down time.

Planting lots of growies at bascamp and Allerton. Its been quite alot for the 6 of us, so when all these seeds spring to life I will be more excited. As a beginner gardener I am trying my best to learn with patience. There's hardly enough time in each day to do all the things I want to. And I keep forgetting to take pictures.

Thiking about rhubarb gummies if that's a thing?

If I don't get proper sleep then it will be so much harder. So... more patience.
BTW the blue eggs belonged to a Robin family and are still being looked after on the lab.

The dog park gate install was a huge step forward this morning. 4 new boots coming Sunday and 1 has dog(s?), so it's important. We have a cool latch idea to implement. We should have the perimeter finished at least. And the dog house soon after.

Seth made fresh baked "Paulydough" cinnamon rolls for breakfast! Paired with espresso! Its an indulgence that only a few boots are taking advantage of? And a wonderful treat considering i skipped my weekend doughnut.

Lots of flower popping up all over the place.

And some mushrooms im not familiar with(maybe Oyster).

I'm told most people like to see projects and things on a BEL thread. But sometimes we are just planting and watering most of the day.  There is some building anticipation for all these growies to start showing the solar panels!!!

We did verify that our Black Locust tree nursery plot has something sprouting. Hopefully we get a good group of seedlings.

It was a really hot weekend!
With the new moon we welcomed 4 new boots.
I moved out to the lab at Cooper Cabin.
Took a nasty spill on an ebike.
Delicious rhubarb upside-down cake was made by Catherine
Samantha blessed us with her knowledge and smiling spirit.
Some dogs came and went.
The kittens we all purposefully relocated by their mothers.
Water issues and car trouble.
Just normal stuff.
