This week Justin Wood will be joining us to talk about all sorts of different kinds of ways to eliminate toxins from our lives.

There are four 32 oz bottles of his new product, DiatomaceousEarth with Calcium Bentonite up for grabs.

Justin will be stopping by on the forum over the next few days answering questions and joining in discussions.

From now through this Friday, any posts in this forum, ie the toxin-ectomy forum, could be selected to win.

To win, you must use a name that follows our naming policy and you must have your email set up in Paul's Daily-ish email.

The winner will be notified by email and must respond within 24 hours.

Posts in this thread won't count, but please feel free to say hi to Justin and make him feel welcome!

Welcome Justin!
Looking forward to what you have to offer about ridding ourselves of toxins. I believe I would greatly benefit from it.
Cheers!

Cassie, Carol, Syntia,

Thanks for the welcome!

I survived leukemia when I was a child. I think that part of my journey pushed me to question a lot of things about toxic stuff - including all the "solutions" that are very toxic.

I don't live in fear about toxic junk, but I am very aware of it. I don't think diatomaceous earth and calcium bentonite solve all the world's problems, but they are really really really easy places to start!

I've been taking diatomaceous earth to help build my bones from osteoporosis but haven't heard of calcium bentonite. Also haven't heard of either being used to cleanse from toxins. Could you please explain?

Also would love to hear of anything you might know of using these for building bone density.

You look like a healthy homeschool family. I homeschooled my 2 daughters and they graduated a few years ago. Well worth it.

Before, when people would tell me they have 3 kids, or 4 kids, I'd be like "meh".

But now that we've had our first child, and seen how much work it is, when someone says they have 3 or 4, I'm boggled.

I don't think my brain can process your picture of 6 kids. I just barely see it, then the picture goes completely black, and I... wait, what were we talking about?

Thank you, Cassie and welcome Justin. I've just had a read at your website Justin, and along with the DE information presented at the opening page, I found interesting stories of Mrs. Wood's experiences with your DE. Thank you!

Thank you all for the greetings. My wife and I are a little overwhelmed with it.

We do have a great family. Our kids have helped us do everything from butcher lots of chickens to hand milk our cows. They know more about permaculture and observation skills than most adults. This is stuff that we have fumbled around with as adults, but our kids pick it up so naturally.

A friend told us that you pour into your kids til age 5 and they give nothing in return. After you do that, from age 6 to 12 they maintain their own and give/take is about equal. After age 12, they make large contributions to the family.

For starters I recommend the podcast and the article by Paul. It is great stuff. http://www.richsoil.com/diatomaceous-earth.jsp

Jackie,

We have enjoyed the challenges of homeschool.

This is not medical advice.

Regarding DE and bone density: The problem for DE is that you can't reproduce it in the lab and make lots of $ off of it so there is a lack of funding and thus a lack in research.

But research seems to be pointing that silica is more important to the bones than even calcium. Silica regulates calcium but it promotes collagen production. Silica supposedly removes abundance of calcium from bones and replaces it with collagen.

From what I have read, calcium bentonite delivers a very absorbable calcium to the body for use including the bones.

Moreover, both DE and CB have lots and lots of trace minerals which I am pretty fascinated with. I want all the trace minerals that I can get because our food sources are largely void of them. My thought is that if we are just now seeing how powerful silica is, then what other things should we incorporate into our lives?

Regarding using DE and Calcium Bentonite for cleansing toxins: In a nutshell, the diatomaceous earth goes through your system almost like a ball of steel wool - safely scrubbing out your digestive tract. Along the way it attracts and absorbs toxins such as heavy metals and other chemicals, harmful bacteria, including candida overgrowth, and parasites. Calcium Bentonite has been used for centuries by various people groups to eliminate food-borne pathogens. (The most common practice was to carry little clay balls to ingest with meals.) The Calcium Bentonite actually attracts all kinds of toxins itself, and when used together, provides an amazing super-cleanse with the DE. (We always ingest a lot of healthy bacteria when we cleanse to make sure that we aren't leaving a void in our guts.)

Blessings.

So I ran the winner picker app in the forum software and we have 2 winners.

Yvonne Chick
and
Jason Vath

Congratulations Yvonne and Jason!

I sent you an email to ask for the email address of the person that first referred you to Permies.com. That person (if qualified) will also get a copy of the book and a permies care package.
