I use the plastic restaurant takeout containers (like you often get for soup, cream cheese, etc..) - the restaurant supply places usually have 3 sizes and lids that fit them all (a reuse concept ziplock or rubbermaid will never latch onto!)
They can cycles through several times for soup, applesauce, berries, veggies, pet food... plus they stack and keep freshness better than bags..
They do break when abused, but can probably last 10 uses with some care.
Since they are sold in tubes of 50 for restaurants, they are very cheap )15-20 cents..)
