Worryed about one little lamb .

i have this problem , my mom have sheeps and one of her sheep got a lamb . But im slightly worryed about him because he looks little bit weird( atleast for me ) , at first i tought that he is a goat and that ewe is adopted him.But he is obviouly a lamb , he is two days old and i have never seen so big new born lamb . Im probably just worryed for nothing and everything is fine with him but still im curious ,and im want to know aswell if i should be worryed .

Is he moving, feeding, and generally behaving OK? The ewes I see behind him are quite delicately built and dark in colour, but the other lamb is white and speckle faced like him, so who is his daddy? Maybe he has a different daddy and that explains his different appearance? Also if he is a single lamb and the others are twins, that would explain his bigger size, and maybe if he had a traumatic birth because of his size he will take a little longer to recover.

I'm a little out of touch with sheep ailments, and just from pictures it's hard to tell, but I wouldn't be too worried and just keep a careful watch on him.

He looks fine! If he is with his mom he should be okay. Single lambs are bigger usually, the same with goats.

How is the lamb doing now? He looks like a sweetheart.

It's good to notice when something is different with your flock. Sometimes something is wrong, sometimes it is not. But it's always good to notice.

It's very difficult to say if there is something wrong without knowing more about what part of the world you are in, what breed of sheep he is, and how the flock is managed.

For example, I don't like the way he is standing in the photos. If you are somewhere with very little sunlight this time of year, and given that the ewes are not shorn and dark in colour, he might be a little bit Vit D deficient. But then again, he might just be standing funny for the photo.

Is that Black Welsh Mountain Mums, or maybe Shetlands? Definitely one of the older breeds the way they are losing their wool and their bone structure. The tend to grow a lot slower than the modern breeds, so that might account for why he is off to a slow start.

If he can nurse, pee and poop then it's usually going to be okay. Best to watch and see.
