While the Banana Circle is in the context of the tropics, this technique can be modified for mediterranean areas with tamarillo or temperate places with species like aronia. This ditch and mound system has produced some the best growth i have also ever seen on support species and lower layers like physalis and pepino ducle. in the tropics the banana can be replaced with papaya and all sorts of guilds can take place. However in this article i provide drawings and suggestions for a way to take the design into the field. Its a vastly important design feature as to cycle wastes and grow food abundantly and slow the process of burning or discarding organic material!
