A friend of my husband's has a bumble bee best in his yard. The girl who mows his lawn is afraid of him and her mom wants to spray them with poison. He said he's willing to have us come and move it instead.
I've found some instructions online, but I'm hoping someone on here can give me advice as well. Pictures would be even better.
It sounds like the nest is in the ground, but we haven't actually seen it yet. The plan is to go during the day to locate it, then go back at night to dig it up and put it in a box or birdhouse and move it to our yard.
Since it sounds like you are getting information third hand, you might want to confirm it is in fact a bumble bee nest and not a wasp nest. Last year I mowed over one paper wasp nest (Ouch!) and almost mowed over a second one.
