Hello all,

We have a Heartland Sweetheart woodburning cookstove for sale. It was purchased by my husband's aunt for her farmhouse...just in case..someday she might need it. It was used only a handful of times and is in like new condition. We are located in SE Washington state. Here is the link to our craigslist ad: https://kpr.craigslist.org/for/5102940579.html. Thank you for looking.

Susan ; It is the condition of the grates that determines a cook stove's true age !

Most of my experience with cookstoves is for models 50 years or more older than me, but I have learned that

The grates and fire box must be clean and dry when not in use, allowing old wood ash to sit in a Cookstove and ''draw moisture out of the air''
means that you are allowing THe metal parts to be bathed in a continuous bath of Very Caustic LYE!*

Is this unit rated to burn Coal - and has it ever burned coal

Starting with a camera (Cell Phone ) Explore how easily the grates can be removed as they periodically should be, Extra points for an easy
disassembly that does not involve dismantling the stove itself ! Good clear pictures that show it's good condition should fetch you a buyer !

Do you still have the Manual - and what are this models model and serial numbers !

Hopefully this should help! For the crafts ! Big AL

*Living in ether the N.E. or the P.N.W. we see humid conditions that caused the creation of that truism ''its better to ware out than rust out "

I have updated the ad for the Heartland Sweetheart Woodburning Cookstove to include photos of the grate and firebox. The model and serial numbers are included as well. If anyone has ideas about the best way to go about selling this stove, please let me know. Thanks.

Woody,

Thank you for your kindness in explaining how I can connect to the "Community Cookstove" website and for all the information.

Do you have any thoughts on a site where we could advertise a Kohler 14KW 120/240V single phase propane fuel generator and a 500 gal propane fuel tank? Would ppl on this site be interested in that type of thing?

Thanks again,
Susan

Susan,

Yes that would be a perfect place for you to post your generator as many of the folks there live remotely and are in need of products like generators. I am also interested as I am looking for a whole house back up generator. When you post I'll review it and let you know if I'm interested. We have a diesel genny at our Yaak place but need one for our new home in Kalispell. We have Natural Gas but I can convert the Kohler, in fact I am a Kohler dealer and have sold a few of what your offering. They are nice units.

You may also want to post it here as this site receives a ton of traffic and many folks here are also off grid and need a good genny for a fair price.

Thanks,

Susan Clark

I have this same stove for sale in Southwest Virginia. I bought it new in 1985ish, and used it a half dozen times just to make sure it was capable of doing what I needed it to do. It was and more so. Coal grates - never used. All the original tools - long ash clean out tool for cleaning above the oven area, eye handle remover. Everything in working order. It's been in storage for 35 or so years and has no rust. Warming oven above.

Thanks, Frank
